Toddlers and Babies So Addicted to Tablets That They Require Therapy

Tablets Addictive To Toddlers
We all know tablets and smartphones are fun, convenient and easy to use, but apparently to toddlers, they're a bit too fun.  Experts are warning that parent's allowing their children hours of excessive tablet use, could see dangerous consequences.

A survey by Babies shows that roughly 50% of parents admit they allow their toddler or baby to use their smartphone or tablet.  Another survey showed that shockingly, 1 in 7 parents admit to allowing their child to use their tablet or smartphone for more than four hours daily.

So what happens to toddlers that have repeated over exposure to tablets?  Reportedly, they become highly irritable, overstimulated and withdraw socially over time.  If you take the tablet away, they go through a withdraw process very similar to that of an alcoholic or heroin addict.  Many children with long term chronic over stimulation to these smart devices, require compulsive behavioral therapy to recover.

Specialists are claiming it takes just an hour or so of daily use to put most toddlers or babies on a path to addiction and ultimately to full blown behavioral issues.

So if you must let your child play with your phone or tablet, be sure to carefully regulate how long they're using it and more importantly, make sure it's not becoming a daily habit.
